UPS has many opportunities to help you Recycle, Reduce and Reuse everyday objects!
1. Markers: Mrs. Kozarski is encouraging us all to keep markers out of our landfills by hosting a collection. Third Graders will be collecting old markers (Highlighters and Dry Erase markers are included) to participate in Crayola ColorCycle where they turn used markers into repurposed items. Bins will be placed in all lower wing classrooms nad the upper wing will have a collection box in the cafeteria. Third grade students will come around at the end of each week to collect any markers. They can be any brand of marker, not just Crayola.
2. Plastic: Mrs. Kozarski is heading up a new recycling challenge! We have signed up with Trex to try and collect the most plastic film that we can! We will be competing against other schools with similar amounts of students in our state. At the end of the program in April, the winning school will be given a Trex bench!
Please see THIS FLYER to determine which items are recyclable and start sending them in! We will soon have a special bin to deposit recyclables. In the meantime, you can send any items down to Mrs. Kozarski's classroom.
3. S.M.I.L.E. Club Collections: Collections of paper tubes will be ongoing and help to support the Cohanzick Zoo. Please drop your contributions in the designated container in the library. Collections of soda can tabs benefit the Ronald McDonald House and may be left in the red house located in the main office. Used mascara wands help the Appalachian Wildlife Refuge care for small animals. Place your wands in Ziploc bags in the designated container located in the library. Collections for new or used greeting cards will be taken for St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Nevada. For more information, contact Mrs. Knox .
4. Ink Cartridges: We have an ongoing collection of used printer ink cartridges. Please turn yours in to the Main Office or Mrs. Boeckle .
